I am WAY behind, so I am going to do my best to catch up. I thought about how I should catch up for days (okay, weeks or months). Then I realized I was using organization as an excuse to not work. So I am just jumping back into it in any willy nilly order.
We threw a winter penguin party for Sam's 10th birthday. I saw the idea HERE on Hostess for the Mostess and did my best to execute the decor. It is nothing like she can pull off, but I was happy with the result and Samantha loved it.
Instead of presents, she asked everyone to donate to Charity: Water. She was so excited to be able to do it and loved watching the website to see how much she had raised. I was proud of her for making a choice to help other people. She's a keeper.
Little Helmut and I worked together to hang a grid of fishing line from the ceiling so we could hang the decor. It was a bit of work, but turned out really cool. We used those 3M removable hooks so we didn't ruin the paint.
I ordered these custom-made sugar cookies from Batches on Etsy. The were kind of spendy and I went back and forth about whether or not I should get them. I finally bit the bullet and did it. They were really cute and looked great on the counter. They didn't taste good at all. I don't think I would order them again. I really need to learn how to make them myself.
No party of mine is complete without a candy bar. I was lucky enough to discover that Party City now carries a bunch of color separated candy that is perfect for a candy bar. It makes it way cheaper because you can buy the candy in smaller quantities and you don't have to pay shipping.
Love the decorations.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SAMANTHA!!!!! I love these decorations and the fact that your family loves you so much that they put great effort into making you happy. I never use turquoise or orange or yellow in my decor, but every time I see it, I love the effect.
