While we were in Utah, we set aside a day to go visit with my sisters and visit the old alma mater, BYU. We also thought this would be a good chance for Little Helmut to see some of the campus. We are doing our best to convince him that BYU is his best choice for college, it is a work in progress. The campus has changed so much since we were there, I suppose that will happen in a twenty year span (ugh, twenty years!! we must be so old!). We shopped around at the bookstore with my sister Jenny and her girls. Then we headed over to my old stomping grounds, the Brick Oven. Ironically, it had not changed one bit. Of course the people are different, but the decor and food were just as I had left them. The prices had gone up a tad, but the hunter green and burgundy accents transported me directly back to the early 1990s.
That night, we caught up with the rest of my sisters and their families over a plate of ribs. It was so good to see them all. Whenever we all get together, I get a bit sad that I don't get to be part of their day to day lives. We are sisters, so we always have plenty to talk about. I just wish I got more time to be with them.
Here are some shots from that day.
Next time you're in Utah I'll meet you at the Brick Oven!! That will REALLY take you back :)
