I convinced Matt and Maria to come for the weekend and ride the Heroes Ride in Conroe. It was a ride organized to benefit the families of fallen police officers and to help maintain the memorials set up in their honor. The ride offered a 92, 66 and 40 mile route. Matt and Helmut choose the 66 miler, but the girls opted for the 40 mile ride.
The weather was beautiful with clear sunny skies and temperatures in the low 60's. I spent most of the ride trying to keep up with Jennifer. Around mile 14 she was a small dot in the distance so I gave up and focused on enjoying my surroundings. The birds were chirping and the tall pines of rural Conroe were beautiful. I am not saying I am ready to ride the MS 150 anytime soon, but I do feel like my training is headed in the right direction. The down home BBQ at the finish was delicious
Cute pic! That sounds so fun!
