In this neck of the woods, summer came to an end just a short two and a half weeks ago. But in so many ways, it seems like it was ages ago. We are covered up with homework, sports practice, making lunches and trying to get to bed at a decent hour. So today when I stumbled across these pictures of our lazy days of summer, I had to post them. An homage to summer 2011:
The boys' summer was full of workin' out. An let's face it, no work out is complete without some Muscle Milk (or in this case, Monster Milk). This required a lot of hand washing of their blender bottles. I'm not a big fan of hand washing.
The orchid has been my favorite flower since my days at the Singapore Botanical Gardens. They are so easy to take care of and require next to no attention, the only kind of house plant to have in my opinion. Orchids were so cheap and abundant in Singapore that we had them all over the house. So when I found these orchids on sale at Kroger for $9.99, I snatched a couple up.
Samantha and Josh spent a good portion of their summer watching TV, catching up on Adventure Time.
Chuy enjoyed having the kids home from school all day. He loved laying around on the rug while the kids watched TV (which has Josh often wishing he had a dog's life).
Here is a parting shot of Sam's new school shoes. I know I have already posted a picture of them, but she was so proud of them, I think it deserves one more.
