Today is the big day. The day my parents enter the MTC (the Missionary Training Center in Provo, Utah) where they will learn the ins and outs of what the next 18 months will entail. When I spoke to my mom last night, she seemed a bit nervous. I can only imagine how she must feel looking forward to a complete lifestyle change. I just hope they have a good experience in the MTC.
I am so proud of them for making the decision to serve a mission. They are setting such a good example for my children. An example of what it means to serve the Lord and how important that is to them. It is so important to them they were willing to sell their house, put all their belongings into storage and move to a strange new place (and let's face it, compared to Allen, Texas...New York City is like another country).
The last time we saw my parents, I took some shots of them and the kids. A little frozen snapshot in time to show what the kids looked like when they left.
Good luck, Mom and Dad. We will be praying for you.
